On 2 February 2022, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) provided an update on its webpage, ‘Simple, transparent, and standardised (STS) securitisation notifications’ regarding a new STS register, to facilitate the notification of STS securitisations by reporting entities to ESMA. All notifications must be submitted to ESMA via the ESMA Register portal and new STS templates are to be used. The new register replaces the previous STS list for traditional STS securitisations (non-ABCP securitisations, ABCP securitisations and ABCP programmes) and the previous list will be disabled once all the STS traditional securitisations are moved to the new register.
