IOSCO final report on valuing collective investment schemes

By Simon Lovegrove (UK) on June 1, 2026

On 1 June 2026, the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) published a final report in valuing collective investment schemes (CIS). The final report updates and consolidates IOSCO’s earlier 2007 Principles for the Valuation of Hedge Fund Portfolios and 2013 Principles for the Valuation of CIS. It also contains an updated set of recommendations to further enhance the consistency and transparency of valuation practices across global investment funds.

The recommendations apply broadly to registered / authorized public open-ended funds except money market funds and cover a broad spectrum of the valuation ecosystem, encompassing responsible entities or fund managers, internal valuation functions and committees, and third-party valuation service providers. Exchange-Traded Funds are included within the scope of the final report, with recognition of their unique features.
