On 1 April 2022, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) announced that it is postponing the annual review of the MiFIR Regulatory Technical Standards on non-equity transparency (RTS 2). The on-going MiFIR review is likely to have a significant impact on the review as it is likely to make part of it redundant due to the proposed removal of the size-specific to the instrument threshold, and might impact other provisions related to the instruments subject to the report. The ESMA will resume the submission of the annual RTS 2 report in 2023.
