It is important for anyone that deals with cost to repair property damage to understand the regulations and costs associated with completing a property repair. Often these costs are left out of insurance company estimates to complete the repair. Recently, while mediating one of our cases, one of the main disputes related to amounts in the insured’s expert’s report that related to OSHA requirements that would apply to a roofer while repairing the property. Ultimately, we were able to settle the case for an amount that included the OSHA required expenses after establishing their need.
