SPB Trade Practitioners Headline Asia Society Panel Discussion in India: Cross-currents of Global Trade – October 15, 2019

By Trade Practitioner on October 9, 2019

On October 15, 2019 in Mumbai, India, a team of our colleagues, including former US Representative Joseph Crowley (D-New York), former US Ambassador Frank G. Wisner, former UK Ambassador Matthew Kirk and Frank Samolis, will discuss the current global trade scenario and India’s trade relations with the US at an Asia Society India event. The panel will discuss the opportunities that the US-China trade tension has ushered in for India to leverage current trade conditions to its economic advantage to become a strategic and long-term partner for the US. The discussion will examine what lies ahead for the ongoing bilateral trade talks while President Trump is in office, how will the smaller deal-making work for India, and in which areas are the two countries willing to compromise to make negotiations successful.

The discussion will take place on October 15, 2019 at 7 p.m. at The Rendezvous, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Colaba, Mumbai.
