Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 (Commencement No 12) Order 2018

By Simon Lovegrove (UK) on December 6, 2018

On 5 December 2018, there was published on legislation.gov.uk The Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2018. The Order brings into force on 1 January 2019 twelve provisions of the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 (c. 33) relating to the ring-fencing regime that are not already in force.

The ring-fencing regime applies to ring-fenced bodies, which are UK institutions that fall within the definition in section 142A of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. The coming into force of the provisions set out in the Order will enable the ring-fencing regime to take effect.
