EBA highlights progress in the work of supervisory colleges in 2017

By Jack Prettejohn (UK) & Simon Lovegrove (UK) on March 19, 2018

On 16 March 2018, the European Banking Authority (EBA) published a report on the functioning of supervisory colleges in 2017. The report summarises the EBA’s assessment of the colleges’ activities against the EBA 2017 Colleges Action Plan and the relevant regulation. The report concludes that overall significant improvements have been achieved over the past couple of years in college interactions, responsiveness, and the quality, coverage and reasoning of the joint decision documents. It adds that further efforts are expected from both the home and host supervisors to enhance the joint decision process and the completeness of the supervisory review and evaluation process assessments.
