Dutch Senate votes on implementation of the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive

By Floortje Nagelkerke (NL) on November 12, 2015

On 10 November 2015, the Dutch Senate passed the legislative proposal implementing the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD) into the Act on the Financial Supervision (Wet op het financieel toezicht) and giving effect to the Single Resolution Mechanism Regulation (SRM Regulation). In addition, the legislative proposal included rules relating to the deposit guarantee fund. This was necessary because the Directive on deposit guarantee schemes needed to be implemented by 3 July 2015
