Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Market Abuse) Regulations 2014 published

The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Market Abuse) Regulations 2014 (the Regulations) and an accompanying explanatory memorandum have been published on the legislation.go.uk website.

The Regulations come into force on December 15, 2014, amending sections 118(9) and 118A(6) and adding a new subsection 118(10) of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA).

The effect of the amendments extends the expiry date of section 118(8) (the prohibition on market manipulation), section 118A(2),(3) (the associated provisions), and section 130A (definition of “regular user”) until July 3, 2016.
