Council of the EU note on state of play on MCD

By Simon Lovegrove (UK) on December 23, 2013

The Council of the EU has published a note from the Council’s General Secretariat to the Permanent Committee of Representatives on the state of play on discussions in the Council on the proposed Mortgage Credit Directive (MCD). The note explains that, on 10 December 2013, the European Parliament adopted (at first reading) the text of the proposed MCD which is set out in an Annex to the note. The note also explains that the Parliament’s position reflects what had been previously agreed between the Parliament, the Council and the European Commission. As a result, the note states that the Council should be in a position to approve the Parliament’s position.
