On October 20, 2012, the Metro Council voted to expand the Portland metropolitan area urban growth boundary by a little less than 2,000 acres or less than one percent of the current acreage. As one might expect, there are those who believe it’s too little and those who believe it’s too much. All of the acreage is in Washington County, and while 330 acres is designated for industrial growth, the remainder will be primarily residential. To learn more, visit Metro News.
