Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett is pleased to announce that Associate Alex J. Domingue has been appointed to the 2024-2025 Louisiana State Bar Association Access to Justice Committee (ATJ). The mission of the ATJ Committee is to assure that every Louisiana citizen has access to competent civil legal representation by promoting and supporting a broad-based and effective justice community through collaboration among the stakeholders.
The ATJ Committee also works closely with the Louisiana Access to Justice Commission to examine overarching access to justice policies and systemic issues. Created by the LSBA in conjunction with the Supreme Court of Louisiana, the purpose of the Commission is to “assure continuity of policy and purpose in the collaboration between the private bar, the courts, and the civil justice community so as to further the goal of assuring that Louisianans, regardless of their economic circumstance, have access to equal justice under the law.”
About Alex Domingue
Alex Domingue’s areas of practice include the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Jones Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and War Hazards Compensation Act.
Alex is dedicated to the belief that all Louisiana citizens should have access to competent civil legal representation. He has been a volunteer attorney at the Civil District Court Self-Help Resource Center, providing pro bono legal services to self-represented litigants in domestic (family law) matters. He is also a Fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation, which is the single largest grantor of funds in the State of Louisiana to support civil legal aid. More >
About The ATJ Committee
The Access to Justice Committee was established in 1996. As the mission states, the committee helps to strengthen an integrated delivery network by supporting all those who deliver legal services to the poor. The current committee is comprised of 40 volunteer members, both attorneys and non-attorneys, with the common interest of assisting the indigent with their legal needs. These volunteers, with various backgrounds, reside throughout Louisiana and include corporate counsel, legal service attorneys, legal educators, large and small firm representatives, and pro bono directors. The Committee facilitates the work of all legal services providers by encouraging statewide collaboration and interaction through the programs the ATJ Committee sponsors and the projects it implements.
