Does China Have Judges? – China Law in One Minute

Yes, China has judges. As of Jun. 2017, China had more than 120,000 judges, including 367 judges of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC). 

Under the Judges Law, the Chinese judges’ main spheres of competence include: (1) to adjudicate criminal, civil and administrative cases and cases concerned with national compensation; and (2) to handle extradition and judicial assistance and other cases.
