Talk of the LexBlogosphere: August 9, 2007

By Rob La Gatta on August 9, 2007

The big talk among bloggers in Seattle this week is the upcoming Gnomedex Conference taking place at the Bell Harbor Conference Center. The conference begins tonight, and features an impressive group of speakers (the list of registered attendees isn’t too shabby either). Both Kevin and Colin O’Keefe from LexBlog will be attending the conference…hopefully they’ll come away with some interesting insights worth sharing in this blog.

For now, here are the conversations taking place in the LexBlogosphere this morning:

  • Floyd J. Dugas at the Connecticut Education Law Blog discusses new Connecticut legislation requiring background checks and drug tests for school bus drivers.
  •  Hughes & Luce attorney Cliff Hutchinson provides in-depth analysis of some factors surrounding the admission of expert witness testimony in his blog, Science Evidence.
  • The list of documents required for trucking cases is extensive, as Atlanta attorney Mark Zamora points out in the Trial Lawyer Resource Center.
  • In the Chicago IP Litigation Blog, attorney R. David Donoghue of DLA Piper LLP identifies the Northern District companies represented in Interbrand’s 2007 list of Best Global Brands.
  • One of the biggest stories in the world of broadcast law is the ongoing transition to digital television. Today in the Broadcast Law Blog, David Oxenford of Davis Wright Tremaine comments on a recent FCC report that could work against the tech advocates looking to operate low power wireless devices in the “white spaces” between television stations.

Starting today, anyone featured in Talk of the LexBlogosphere will receive an e-mail from me, alerting them that they were included and featuring a link to the post. And don’t forget…we accept content submissions if you are a LexBlog client with an item you’d like to see featured.
