Global legal software development specialist Xperate has appointed Hannah Perryman as its first dedicated head of marketing, as it expands its presence across existing and emerging markets and focuses on building its partnerships.

Xperate was founded in October 2021 by CEO Simon Hill and chief operating officer Mark Garnish, who both previously headed Tikit. The UK-founded company, which is bootstrapped and has grown in turnover by 50% a year, has a substantial talent pool in India and is entering its next phase of growth, with plans to expand into South America, the Middle East and South-East Asia. We wrote in October that it has around 160 people and is targeting £50m annual revenue within five years.

With the business now approaching its fifth anniversary, Xperate has created this new senior marketing role to support the next phase of strategic growth.

Perryman will lead the development and execution of Xperate’s marketing strategy across all regions. She previously worked for marketing agency Consortium, managing professional services customers including Xperate. Speaking to Legal IT Insider, Perryman said: “Xperate has got to the stage that they now need a full time person. We’ll be creating a new strategy to kick start our fifth year.” She added: “Partnerships are key and we’ll be looking at increasing global brand recognition.”

Xperate’s marketing and HR manager Becky Patterson has held a very wide role, and as Xperate has grown, will focus more on HR and director support going forward.

Hill said: “The strength of the Xperate brand today is the result of four years of focus, hard work and a real commitment to delivering value to the legal sector. As our business continues to evolve, we recognised the need for dedicated marketing leadership to help drive the next stage of growth. Hannah’s appointment is an important strategic move for the business. She brings a strong blend of marketing expertise, commercial insight and energy; as a result we believe she will make a significant impact as we continue to expand our presence, enter new markets and further strengthen our position within the legal sector.”
