The Federal Court has welcomed Montréal-based Langlois Lawyers LLP partner Danielle Ferron as a new judge.
Ferron takes the place of Justice V. Rochester, who was elevated to the Federal Court of Appeal in January 26, 2024. Ferron’s practice focused on civil and commercial litigation; she has tackled civil fraud, banking litigation, cybersecurity, intellectual property, piracy, and shareholder disputes.
She has experience in seizures before judgment, as well as in Anton Piller, Mareva, and Norwich injunctions and orders. She is an expert in corporate governance matters as well and co-wrote a book of doctrine entitled “L’injonction et les ordonnances Anton Piller, Mareva et Norwich,” which was published in 2009. Moreover, she examined the ethical challenges posed by artificial intelligence and its legal framework.
