The National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a symposium on improving the quality and efficiency of foreign-related law enforcement and justice.
On 29 Oct. 2021, ten CPPCC members, as well as experts and scholars, made consultative speeches on improving the foreign-related law enforcement and judicial mechanism at the “Bi-weekly Consultation Forum” of the CPPCC National Committee.
Comments made at the symposium included the following.
- Chinese authorities should enhance their credibility in foreign-related law enforcement and justice;
- Chinese courts should build on the mechanism for foreign-related civil and commercial adjudication, with emphasis on the international commercial court system and the rules of ascertainment of foreign law;
- Chinese arbitration institutions should be in line with international commercial arbitration rules and improve the international commercial arbitration system;
- China should focus on coordination among departments involved in foreign-related law enforcement and justice; and
- Chinese law schools and continuing legal education departments should pay attention to cultivating foreign-related legal talents.
