On September 3, 2021, new restrictions were announced by the Alberta Government in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Effective September 4, the following restrictions came into force throughout Alberta:
- Masks are mandatory in all indoor public spaces and workplaces (except schools);
- Employees must mask in all indoor work settings, except while alone in work stations separated from others by physical barrier or a physical distance of two-meters; and
- Alcohol service must end at 10 p.m. in all restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, nightclubs and all other licensed establishments..
In addition, the Alberta government has recommended that employers temporarily pause plans for in-person return to work and where possible, employees revert to working from home.
