The Dallas office of Perkins Coie donated $30,000 to the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program to help support the organization’s pro bono efforts, a firm news release announced this week.
The contribution to the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program—a joint initiative of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas—is comprised of attorneys’ fees the firm recovered in pro bono cases, the release said.
“Perkins Coie is deeply committed to pro bono service and it’s our practice that any fees awarded to us for our work on pro bono matters are used only for pro bono related purposes—either donated to nonprofit public service organizations or used to fund pro bono initiatives at the firm,” Perkins Coie’s Pro Bono Counsel Leah Medway said in the release. “We’re thrilled to use the award of attorneys’ fees to benefit DVAP.”
