Where Can I Get Credit Counseling For Bankruptcy?

By Scott Riddle on December 4, 2013

As discussed in more detail in this post, you there are two counseling requirements in individual Bankruptcy cases – one before filing the case, and one before getting a discharge. The overwhelming majority of people do the counseling sessions online.  How do you find an approved Bankruptcy counseling agency and compare prices?  One simple way is through an internet search (google, Bing or Yahoo).  For example, if you need to file a Bankruptcy case in Georgia, you can search for “Bankruptcy counseling in Georgia.”  You can also check the website of the United States Trustee for Approved Pre-filing Creditor Counseling Providers and Approved Pre-Discharge Debtor Education Providers.  Finally, your Bankruptcy lawyer can often direct you to one of the lower priced options.
