Budget Conference Committee
The Budget Conference Committee will hold its second formal meeting on Wednesday, November 13 in an effort to reach an agreement on a topline discretionary funding for FY 2014 and possibly a one- to two-year sequestration mitigation package. Appropriators are pushing the committee to establish the topline number by November 22 to allow them time to put together a FY 2014 spending package before the January 15 deadline of the current continuing resolution (P.L. 113-46).

NDD United Report Scheduled For Release
On Tuesday, November 12, NDD United, a coalition of over 3,000 organizations advocating against budget cuts to nondefense discretionary (NDD) programs, will release a new report, Faces of Austerity: How Budget Cuts Have Made Us Sicker, Poorer and Less Secure. The report will highlight the impact of sequestration on sectors such as public health, education, and workforce development.
