Kentucky television station 14news is reporting that two cases of Salmonella have been reported in Webster County adjacent to Hopkins County. It is unconfirmed whether these cases are linked to the 11 illnesses and one death from Salmonella reported in Hopkins County. The source of the Hopkins County outbreak is still unknown and investigators are interviewing victims to see where or what they might have eaten in the days leading up to their illnesses. Symptoms of Salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramping. They generally develop 12 to 72 hours after exposure and last between four and seven days.
