The Chicken Next Door

By Kelly Hossaini on April 18, 2011

As the old saying goes, “A car in every garage and two chickens in every pot.” Except now, that should read, “. . . and two chickens in every backyard.” Over the past couple of years, many cities in Oregon have revised their municipal codes to allow hens, at least, in backyards under certain circumstances. Want to know more about all things “urban chicken”? Go to “TheCityChicken.com” to learn about our most urbane poultry. The site even has a listing of the status of chicken laws in many Oregon cities. Note that many cities require an annual permit, with a fee, of course, for chickens. Happy Easter Egg Hunting!
