Connecticut’s Minimum Wage Now Up to $8.25 Per Hour Effective January 1, 2010

By Daniel Schwartz on January 5, 2010

Connecticut’s minimum wage law went up again on January 1, 2010 — this time to $8.25 per hour. It is the second of a two-part increase that was put into effect by the legislature in 2008.

I’ve covered the state’s minimum wage law extensively over the summer last year as part of the “Basics” series. You can find the post here.

If you’re looking for some historical perspective on the minimum wage law, you can trace the history of each raise here.

There still are some exceptions to the minimum wage law for some minors and some who work in agriculture, so employers in those industries should be aware of those rules as well.
