LexBlog Law Network Roundup – 8/4/09

Posted on August 4, 2009

It’s almost hard to believe it’s only Tuesday. I think some of our bloggers are feeling the ‘dog days of summer’ as the total number of posts on the network was down a bit today. One of my favorite posts from today has Steven Berk pointing out a rather ridiculous quote from the president of the Indoor Tanning Association. I know, I know, it sounds odd but just take a look.

  • The President of the Indoor Tanning Association Defends the Indefensible – Washington, DC lawyer Steven Berk on his blog, A Voice For Main Street
  • Skilled Immigrants Leaving the United States in Record Numbers – Phoenix attorney Chad Graham of Littler on the firm’s blog Global Immigration Counsel
  • Don’t Be A White Bread Sandwich – New York lawyer Michael Quiat of Uscher, Quiat, Uscher & Russo on his blog, Quiat on Claims
  • Tribal Self-Insureds Must Take Notice of New Medicare Reporting Rules – Seattle attorney Gabe Galanda of Williams Kastner on the firm’s blog, Northwest Indian Law & Business Advisor
  • More antibiotic-resistant Salmonella cases reported in Colorado – Suzanne Schreck of Marler Clark on the firm’s Food Poison Journal
  • EPA to Issue Mandatory Data Collection Rule for Nanoscale Materials Under TSCA – Washington, D.C. lawyer John C. Monica, Jr. of Porter Wright Morris & Arthur in the firm’s Nanotechnology Law Report
  • Why Is the Illinois Bar Advising Lawyers to Look Stupid By Admitting That They Can’t Estimate Fees? – Washington, D.C. attorney Carolyn Elefant at her blog, My Shingle
  • Texas Relaxes Requirements to Enforce Noncompetes Against Physician-Owners – Fort Worth lawyer Russell Cawyer of Kelly Hart & Hallman on the firm’s Texas Employment Law Update
  • In Texas, federal cash for clunkers rebates aren’t subject to motor vehicle sales tax – Dallas attorney Alan E. Sherman in his Texas State & Local Tax Law Blog
