Gannett : Looking like a blogging Web 2.0 company

By Kevin O'Keefe on November 8, 2006

Amy Gahran has some interesting takes on Gannet’s strategic shift toward ‘Information Centers‘ and away from traditional newspaper publishing. As Amy says, “Make no mistake, this is a very big deal for the news business.”

Better yet was what Amy pulled from the AP:

Under [Gannett’s] plan, the ‘Information Center’ will be divided into seven areas: public service, digital, data, community conversation, local, custom content and multimedia.

Sure makes it look like traditional media is moving towards blogs and online networking rather than the other way around. Should be fascinating next couple of years.
