Studies demonstrate need for effective Internet presence

Law firms still looking for evidence that they need to be on the Internet, should take a look at a couple of studies.

ComScore Media Metrix reported in a recent survey of legal service buyers (in-house counsel, CEO’s, CFO’s & VP’s) the following:

  • 65% have gone online to locate outside legal counsel
  • 38% search for legal services on the Web weekly
  • 89% use search engines to find law firm Websites
  • 86% go directly to a law firm website
  • 71% enter law firm websites through portals (Martindale, Law.com, etc)

TouchPoint Metrics recently reported “In the previous 12 months, 73% of participating (in the study) firms gained new clients whose first awareness of their firm was their website.”
