The social media platform TikTok recently got bad news from the Nevada Supreme Court when it denied a motion to dismiss a complaint brought by the State of Nevada. Nevada alleged in the complaint that TikTok’s platform uses harmful design features intended to keep young users on the app for as long as possible to maximize advertising revenue. In Nevada’s view, TikTok violated the state’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
