Yesterday,  a Colorado Senate committee voted 3-2 to pass Senate Bill 11, which would legalize civil unions for same-sex couples in that state.  The bill was opposed by Republicans in that vote.  The bill will now be heard by the Appropriations Committee before it reaches Gov.
