Recently, Governor Jack Markell nominated former Superior Court Judge Joseph R. Slights, III to succeed the Honorable John W. Noble, who will be retiring at the end of this month as Vice Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery. Judge Slights is currently a partner at the law firm of Morris James LLP, in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Litigation group. Mr. Slights previously served a 12 year term as a Judge with the Delaware Superior Court. Before joining the bench, he was a trial litigator at Richards Layton & Finger and Morris James. Former Gov. Tom Carper appointed Slights to Superior Court in 2000. The Delaware Senate is scheduled to consider his nomination after the legislative session resumes in March.
