How do you keep down your stress levels at the office?. It goes without saying that legal practice can be stressful. It is deadline driven, requires concentration on other people’s problems and concerns, and operates within a structure predetermined by others; be they legislators, judges, juries, or other decision makers. So, how does a lawyer remain mindful, and in the present, when all else conspires against her? I have always believed in the use of technology to reduce stress. The more we are able to remove the drudgery of some tasks, the sooner we can concentrate on taking care of ourselves. The biggest factor in my practice, however, is not something we have any control over. It’s called getting older. The older I get, the more I realize that every day is precious, and there aren’t too many things that can get in the way of my future. What, me worry? I don’t have enough time left to worry. Enjoy the day. After all, at my age, what can they do to me?
