The Law Library of Congress is pleased to announce the publication of a new research guide, Consumer Protection Law: A Beginner’s Guide. Consumer protection law is the body of laws that seeks to protect the rights of consumers and guard against unfair business practices. This guide provides an overview of resources for researching the laws impacting consumers and their rights.
The guide begins with a general explanation of consumer protection law, followed by information on print and online resources for learning more about consumer protection law, including federal statutes and regulations related to consumer protection law. The guide also has links to online resources to learn more about consumer protection law, file a complaint with a federal or state agency about a consumer protection matter, and resources for legal assistance.
We hope that this guide will be a valuable resource for researchers seeking to learn more about consumer protection law.
