As bar exam season approaches, we know how important it is to have the right environment and tools to succeed. This summer, the Law Library will provide dedicated study spaces and a variety of bar prep resources to support you through this crucial time. Whether you’re deep into outlining or taking every practice test, we’ve got you covered!

Study Spaces

Summer Carrels at the Law Library

If you haven’t already, you can still email Law Library Operations Manager David Kelly (david.kelly@ttu.edu) to reserve a study carrel for the summer! Keys will be issued beginning Tuesday, May 20th and must be returned by Monday, August 4th.

Summer Carrels at the Main Campus Library

If you want to get away from the Law School but still need a quiet spot, you’re also welcome at the University’s Main Campus Library. Keys will be issued for up to 6-hour checkout at the Main Campus Library’s service desk. Bring your RaiderCard to check out keys. First-come, first-served! There are plenty of individual carrels available for checkout every day of the week.

Reserve your space, choose the type of space you need, and follow the prompted links to reserve a space of any size. Enter your times and credentials to confirm your reservation, and head to the Main Campus Library service desk for your keys!

Group Study Rooms & Unused Classrooms at the Law Library

Group study rooms have been reserved all summer so you can bar prep with others if you’d like. First-come, first-served, but make sure to consider your fellow bar studiers in close proximity!

If all group study rooms are taken, you’re also welcome to use any unused classroom this summer. If the door is locked, visit the Circulation desk at the Law Library entrance for help.

Open Space at the Law Library

You’re always welcome to set up shop at one of the available reading desks set up around the Law Library’s stacks. Again, please be mindful of others in general spaces.

Popular Study Materials

Currently, Texas administers the Uniform Bar Exam, a two-day test that includes the MBE (a 200-question, multiple-choice component), the MEE (six essay questions, each 30 minutes long), and the MPT (two 90-minute problems requiring written legal analysis). That’s a lot to prep for, so here’s a short list of some of the Law Library’s most popular and effective bar prep materials, from flashcards to practice exams and more. We’ve got plenty of copies of each!
