Despite sounding like a relatively rudimentary type of attack, the number of skimming incidents continues to grow year-on-year in the U.S. There was a steep rise of 759% total reported incidents in the first half of 2022 alone compared to the previous year. Incredibly, as many as 53% of these happened in California.
