U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has introduced a new online tool for rescheduling biometric services appointments, commonly known as Application Support Center or ASC Appointments. According to USCIS, this self-service tool enables requestors, attorneys, and accredited representatives to reschedule biometrics appointments before the scheduled date without the need to call or mail correspondence to the USCIS Contact Center.

Previously, rescheduling biometric appointments could only be done through the USCIS Contact Center, which often involved time-consuming phone calls or sending correspondence via mail delivery. However, with the new online tool, individuals with a USCIS online account may efficiently reschedule most appointments without the hassle of making a phone call or mailing correspondence. This tool is accessible for cases submitted online or by mail. The tool cannot be used to make changes within 12 hours of the appointment, for appointments rescheduled two or more times, for appointments that have already passed, or other untimely requests. In such cases, please contact the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 to discuss options.

Valid reasons for rescheduling include illness, medical appointments, previously planned travel, significant life events, transportation difficulties, employment or caregiver responsibilities, and late or undelivered appointment notices. For further guidance, please refer to the USCIS Policy Manual.
