The Verge reported that Microsoft is finally releasing a keyboard shortcut to paste plaintext. The obvious response is … what the heck took so long? Many users know that doing a copy and paste operation in Word brings over the formatting from the copied text. Instead of using <CTRL> + V, you have the option to right click and paste as plaintext. Many users just dump the copied text to Notepad in order to remove the text formatting and copy the text from there.

The new keyboard shortcut (<CTRL> + <SHIFT> + V) is currently in development. As How-To Geek posted, “The new shortcuts are available in the Microsoft 365 Home and Business Standard Beta Channels, starting with version 16.0.15831.20174 for Windows, and version 16.67.1113.0 for Mac.”
