Let’s face it. We’re constantly looking for ways to improve the security of our devices, especially as cyberattacks are a new way of life. ZDNet has a post to help you improve the security of your Android phone in just five easy steps.
- Only install apps you must have
- Only install apps from the Google Play Store
- Do not tap links from SMS messages from unknown sources
- Update, update, update
- Do not connect to unsecured networks without a VPN
Some would say that the suggestions are a no brainer and should be followed for all devices. Number 5 gives me a little pause. My recommendation is to not connect to an unsecured network with or without a VPN. In other words, avoid unsecured networks at all costs.
