As we come to the end of a tumultuous year, it is normal to think about what a New Year will bring. I am grateful for my new life with my new spouse, free of past trauma and drama, and look forward to a quiet New Year; although, I am always prepared for the minute to minute risk of a life changing or life ending event that can happen at any time. Each moment until then, however, I will live happily. I am in a good place; but, I Memento Mori every day. No New Year’s Resolutions, as they require assumptions that never transpire. There is no past, for which I am grateful. There is no future, for which I am grateful. There is only the present, for which I am grateful.
