ENGLEWOOD FL – FHP has reported a man was hospitalized in serious condition after crashing a motorcycle on State Road 776.
In the report, Florida Highway Patrol states a 74-year-old man from Englewood was driving his motorcycle heading westbound in the outside lanes when at 12:30 PM the man suffered a medical issue.
After suffering the medical issue, the motorcyclist swerved to the right, crossed over the right lanes, drove over the sidewalk and onto the grassy embankment.
After encountering the embankment, the motorcyclist became separated from his vehicle and the motorcycle overturned.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he remains in serious condition.
The man had been wearing a helmet during the accident.
