FORT MYERS, LEE COUNTY FL – Florida Highway Patrol reported two people were injured in a four-vehicle crash on Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers Tuesday evening.
The crash took place as a 31 year old man from Lehigh Acres was driving a pick up truck westbound in the center lane of County Road.
At the same time a 60 year old man from Fort Myers was driving a sport utility vehicle in the right-hand lane, a 19 year old woman from Fort Myers was driving a sedan in the center lane, and a 39 year old woman from Naples was driving a sedan in the left lane of Daniels Parkway.
At 6:42:00 PM the pick up truck began to hydroplane, lost control and swerved to the left, then crossed over the median where the left front of the pick up truck crashed into the left front of the sport utility vehicle driven by the 60 year old man from Fort Myers.
After being hit by the pick up truck, the SUV was struck in the rear by sedan being driven by the 19 year old woman from Fort Myers causing the pick up truck to swerve toward the right.
After colliding with the SUV the sedan, the right rear of the sedan crashed into the left front of the car being driven by the 39 year old woman from Naples. The impact forced both vehicles back across the median.
Both the 60 year old man from Fort Myers and the 19 year old woman from Fort Myers suffered minor injuries in the crash.
All participants in the accident were wearing their safety belts during the accident.
The crash took place on Daniels Parkway near the intersection with Chamberlin Parkway.
