Independence Day – Would You Have Signed? As mobs loot, and tear down monuments, and attempt to deny freedom of speech to those with whom they disagree, and governments seek to regulate every action, it is worth recalling Execupundit’s annual post about the Declaration of Independence. The men who signed it risked their lives and their fortunes and their families to sign. I harbor the view that Americans still have the fire and the backbone to resist tyranny in any form; whether it comes from a group of thugs destroying businesses or politicians who seek to feather their own nests. Freedom isn’t a political game. It is a human right. Tonight, I will follow a family tradition and light fireworks in the front yard after a day spent enjoying my freedom. I am confident that, if the time comes, I will have the courage to defend my traditions and my country from those who want to tear it down. I suspect that I am not alone. CC_4thJuly2016 (1)
