Seven years ago today, I filed my first pleading electronically. Who knew that seven years later, electronic filing would enable me to work through the CoronaVirus pandemic. Yesterday, I filed several pleadings through Florida’s efiling portal, as I do almost every day. Tech is enabling me to stay working and busy, and staving off thoughts of anxiety and despair. I would like to say I foresaw these times 30 years ago when I became enamored of technology. But, I just saw a way to make my law practice life easier, and a way to avoid joining a big law firm. Unintended consequences. The Stoics would call it Fate. I call it the future. Here is my post from April 1, 2013:

I got email confirmation, so that I know it was filed, and I viewed a copy of the scanned PDF online. You can also file Word documents; but, I prefer PDF.
