Looking for a unique gift for someone that pretty much has everything? Consider giving them a password manager this Christmas season. Gizmodo makes the case that giving a password manager is a really good idea. The odds are pretty good that the recipient doesn’t already have a password manager, which means you don’t need to worry about a gift receipt to facilitate a return. As a reminder, password managers work by generating and storing all of your credentials in an encrypted vault that’s protected by a strong master password/passphrase. Some even utilize two-factor authentication to unlock the vault. There are even versions that allow the entire family to share a common vault for storage of family credentials such as the house Netflix account. The cost is very reasonable and will go a long way toward stopping password reuse.
