Bradenton Motorcyclist In Critical Condition After Crash On SR70

Manatee County – Florida Highway Patrol announced a man was in critical condition after being struck by a car while riding a motorcycle on State Road 70.

The motorcycle accident happened as 26 year old motorcyclist Floyd Laycock From Bradenton, was heading westbound on State Road 70 in the left lane approaching the intersection with 1st Street East, on a 2006 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle.

As Laycock proceeded down SR 70, 23 year old driver Robert Pusey from Parrish Florida and 22 Year Old passenger, Joshua Santiago also from Parrish, were in a 2019 Hyundai Elantra stopped on 1st Street East at the intersection with State Road 70 (53rd Avenue East).

At approximately 9:53 P.M. Robert Pusey drove his Hyundai sedan into the intersection, attempted to left onto State Road 70,  crossed into the west lanes and directly into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist.

Laycock collided with the left side of the car and caught fireafter the crash, and came to final rest in the left westbound lane of State Road 70.

Floyd Laycock was taken to Blake Medical Center in Critical condition.

Driver Robert Pusey was charged with Failing to yield the right of way.
