Paterson Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting

Paterson NJ Homicide LawyersPaterson law enforcement is investigating a homicide on a city street.

The victim was a 22-year-old resident of Paterson in Passaic County, NJ. According to Passaic County authorities, the victim was murdered while he walked in the area of North Main Street and Jefferson Street in Paterson, New Jersey.

The Paterson Police Department got an alert through the ShotSpotter gunfire system at around 2:00 a.m. The ShotSpotter alert indicated that gunshots had been fired along North Main Street.

When Paterson cops arrived at the scene, they found the victim. Authorities pronounced the victim dead at the site of the shooting.

The Paterson Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the violent crime and trying to identity a suspect.

If detectives can eventually identify the shooter, that individual could be charged with first degree murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
