All Embassies and Consulates Closed on October 9, 2015, to perform Global Consular Systems Upgrade

By Ian Macdonald & Cole F. Heyer on October 1, 2015

On Friday, October 9, 2015, the Department of State will perform a consular systems upgrade at all Embassies and Consulates (Consular Posts).  Because of this upgrade, the Consular Posts will be closed to the public, and any scheduled appointments for this date will be rescheduled by the Consular Posts.  If you have a scheduled visa appointment for October 9, 2015, you should expect to be contacted directly by your individual Consular Post notifying you of your rescheduled appointment date.

As a result of the consular systems upgrade, visa applicants should anticipate added delays in visa processing times as Consular Posts work to reschedule visa appointments set for October 9, 2015.  Visa processing is planned to commence as normal on Monday, October 12, 2015.
