Class Action Seeks to Declare Invalid Copyright to “Happy Birthday” Song

A class action filed last week seeks to declare invalid the copyright to the song “Happy Birthday” and to recover damages on behalf of anyone who has paid licensing fees to the copyright holder.  According to the complaint, any copyright expired in the 1920s.
