“Spiderman” Settlement Unravels

By Charles Michael on January 10, 2013

A settlement in principle reached August 30, 2012 in the litigation over the Spiderman musical has apparently unraveled.  Based on a series of letters docketed for the first time today, it appears that Judge Forest repeatedly extended the deadline for the settlement to close, and at one point told the parties, “But really, truly I mean it.  This is the last extension, the final one; there won’t be another extension — no more.”  When that deadline was reached, the parties wrote a letter saying that they were not finished, but hoped to complete the settlement in the next few days.  Judge Forrest then issued an Order, dated today, restoring the case to the active docket.
