Jennifer Whang Appointed New FERC ALJ

On September 24, 2012, Chairman Jon Wellinghoff announced the appointment and swearing-in of Judge Jennifer Whang as a new FERC Administrative Law Judge (“ALJ”). 

Judge Whang served as an ALJ with the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review at the Social Security Administration since 2009.  Prior to that, Whang was the Attorney-Adviser in the Office of ALJs at the United States International Trade Commission.

Before becoming a judge, Whang worked at the Department of Justice’s Tax Division in the Civil Trial Section.  She worked as Tax Consultant and Tax Compliance Specialist for Ernst & Young before becoming and attorney. 

Whang earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and she graduated from the University of Arizona College Of Law in 1997.
