Mirage cruise ship - passenger overboardA 26-year-old passenger from Israel is missing from a cruise ship in the Mediterranean Sea.

According to Y Net News,  helicopters and rescue vessels from Cyprus, Israel and the United Nations are searching for the passenger after a SOS signal was received at around 3:00 am (0000 GMT).  The Israeli was missing at sea after “falling overboard” from the Panama-flagged cruise ship Mirage, which was sailing to the southern Cyprus port of Limassol from Haifa.

The Jerusalem Post is reporting that the young man may have been depressed, and he apparenly left a suicide note on the cruise ship.

According to Professor Ross Klein who is an expert on the cruise industry, over 140 passengers and crew members have gone overboard from cruise ships in the last decade.
